    I don't believe in coincidences.

I've seen my posts copied on other forums, but never on the same one!

Funny this thread should pop up now.

I had a dream a few days ago:

I saw a flight of 24 identical planes of which only 6 were manned. They all looked exactly alike, except the 6 manned planes were vastly superior performance wise.

Once entering hostile territory, the unmanned flights would take the lead and launch missiles which were guided and controlled by the 6 planes that were manned, after which they would act as enemy missile fodder or go into a pre-determined flight path and become kamikaze planes and become in effect a tomahawk like cruise missiles themselves.

So did I see the future or is this just a crappy dream, dreamt by a fanboy? )

The navy has something similar in mind for FAXX. It will be optionally manned.

Thats an extension of SEAD/DEAD, in a way.

In another its the demo of Ah-64 + A/MH-6X mix

I don't think thats using AI technology to its fullest though. I mean, a properlly developed AI could in theory out perform an average human pilot anyday.

in my Point of view, the B1R concept is a must have. Although my dreamed B-1R is drastically different from that has been proposed.

    My concept:
1.5-2m diameter AESA radar on B-1's nose (Im guessing would have around 400+km detection range vs Fighter sized targets, of course power usage would be ginormous
Carrying 20+ modified version of RIM-161(500km+ range) internally, as it would Bombs
a full array of active jammers along its back, as well as antenna farm like ALR-94
    Powered by F-119s.

This to me is the ultimate "fighter"

Personally I'd like a modernized XB-70, but I've probably spent too much time listening to Stuart Slade, God bless his heart.

Does nothing but waste lots of maintenance and fuel money.

I LOVE the XB-70, too, and there have been studies done showing that the attrition rate over Vietnam during Operation Rolling Thunder, Arc Light & Linebacker would have been vastly lower if we had been using high-altitude, triple-sonic B-70's, instead of B-52's. Personally, I think this would have been a waste of resources, as the B-70 didn't have the B-52's payload capacity (especially after the "Big Belly" modifications made to the older D's), although I can almost guarantee you no B-70's would've been shot down by NVA SA-2's.
