Probably the ultimate "stealthy" fighter a/c WAS the YF-23.
I heard the Boeing Bird of Prey had the smallest rcs of all manned aircrafts.
although it doesn't have any weapons im sure it can be scaled up to store some.

Any chance of it being modified as cheap mig-21 replacements? :P

That clears up the intake routing issue.

I'm surprised to see rippling across the skin of the aircraft (look at the radome part). Would this be detrimental to stealth?

    I’m not an expert.

As for the intake, what we see is not an engine face. Maybe a radar-blocker, maybe something else. Some posters allege that it’s a rotor-shield.

Andrew, it sure does look like fan blades to me. You can see two layers of them...

Just as example: an old rotor-shield for an intake.

Whatever it is, it's gonna send plenty of radar energy right back at the emitter.

It’s more than two decades since main principles of stealth technology were established. Now even the lamest online babbler knows about faceted plane-form, s-ducts, radar blockers, RAM coating. So the designers should have something in mind if they choose such a layout.

I may only guess. One explanation that comes first is that sensor and detecting techniques now advance much faster than the ability to hide. Giving the 40-50 years life cycle of modern fighters it may be meaningless to trade flying superiority for very low RCS footprint in narrow band. No matter how much effort you spend, less than in 10 years an adversary will have all the needed sensors to detect and kill you. And you would be left with an outmoded plane which lacks other vital capabilities.

But perhaps I’m wrong and later we will see radar blockers, RAM coating and other features on the t-50 which tell us that the t-50 designers generally abide by the stealth techniques.
