Chinese report J-10 shot down F-22, atleast once.

This isn't even just forums, or blogs, Xinhua also seem to support the "rumor".
I personally think this is just a hoax.

essentially, the article quotes another article, which claims an F-22 was shot down by Chinese J-10, after loosing communications, and weren't paying attention...

there are TONS of articles similar to this on other sites, with a whole host of variations in stories.

I don't know... take it as a good laugh if you want

Isn't Xinhua a government news agency?

geez... this would certainly carry a LOT of weight to Chinese bloggers

Also, since its the Government news agency, wouldn't they know what happened? rather than quoting from Reuters?

Oh well... now i have a headache...

one more thing, the reason why I came across this was the fact that many bloggers, and youtubers believed it, and I just had to check it out...

Oh well...

Xinhua's website has a different bunch of staff from that of the press association. And, Xinhua only will know what the government tells it, not necessarily everything government related. And, government is no longer funding it fully any more (to enhance its competence through market compititions), they are on their own as for profit and loss. The story you linked has several other media as being quoted (Reuters, Asia Times Online, The Christian Science Monitor), and the story isn't even mixed up by Xinhua, as in the end of the story you could see the source: Global Times (another Chinese media). And, it's a one year old story already (published in May 08). We believe the story's a piece of trash. End of story.
