What's the difference between A-12 and the S-71 Blackbird?

By the way, does anyone know about the Top Secret Aurora? It was supposed to be some super top secret high tech experimental plane with very exotic technology? Does anyone care to take a guess at it?

I've had Flight Manuals for the A-12 & SR-71 for some years now. It helps to have old friends in high places!

A-12, single seater, flew higher and faster than the SR`.
SR-71, two seater with better sensors, this was the successor to the A-12.
In one documented instance, an A-12 flew at 93,000 ft at Mach many! 3.35 AFAIK.

Aurora was the code-name for the B2 Stealth bomber in it`s "Black" days, and not the mythical pulse detonation engined Mach 6 spy plane in those fantasy editorials......But ya never know.....

Hey, I am REALLY jealous, would love to get my grubby mitts` on those!
The D-12 Drone is fascinating too, would not have liked to have launched one of those, I bet the pilot pucker factor was quite high! (Looks in rear periscope to see if vertical tails are still attached!!!).

There's one of each SR-71 and the cool little drone on static display here at Beale. And a U-2. I'll get some pictures up, but it'll be after I get back from a week-long temporary duty at Ft Belvoir next week.
