This was actually an operational helicopter; I know it's called the Mojave, but I don't know it's number designation.

CH-37 Mojave... Watch as I edit this with my pictures of one...It was the largest helicopter in the world at the time of service and it had twin R-2800 radial engines for power.

This is a CH-37C at the National Museum of Naval Aviation Pensacola, Florida.

if you haven't been ther I would plan a trip because the displays change frequently and one of the best displays they have are the F4F and SBD underwater displays...

THAT'S where I remember seeing it! Geez I've only been there 3 times, you'd think I would've remembered.

I really want to go back again to see all of the changes made since Hanger One was built.

    Much thanks Tanker!

We stay at navy Lodge every spring break which is across the street from the Museum and the Fort. Have you seen it since they did the Cabot display? Pretty cool...They always have a great selection...

I never seen that type of helicopter before. Interesting design. I had to check out youtube to see one in action:

    Sikorsky CH-37 Mojave (1960) - YouTube

Somebody in Germany even made an RC CH-37:
