Mig-31 base has nukes?

Have a google earth picture that is a Mig 31 base only, no other aircraft with what looks like a nuclear weapons storage site, tripple fence, north east of runway and aircraft.. Any ideas?

They could just be hangers and/or storage buildings for munitions.

It doesn't look like a ballistic missile store.

Perhaps the Russian Air Force has got desperate for cash and is growing cannabis?

It wouldn't be for cash.

It looks much like the nuclear weapons depots at old SAC bases, tripple fenced, and very secure. Most likely, I suspect, is the potential for a nuclear AAM, perhaps like the American Genie, or more likely the proposed AIM-54 nuclear version which was looked at but never produced. The Mig-31 does not have a air to ground role, and this base is in the middle of many strategic targets, like ICBMs and the like. Take the lat long and go to google earth and you will find it in the middle of many bases that would be defended.

It is intersting to me that the Russians have not disclosed any nuclear air to air weapons, like the US has, but what weapon has the US had that the Russians have not?

It looks like a standard ammo dump to me.

It certainly is. He hasn't been on for a while, but I know he has recently started a job which involves a lot of commuting. I look forward to his return.
