Help me identify this WW2-era German aircraft - Page 2

Definitely Fw-190.

I'm looking at my models right now. All Fw-190s have bigger rudders than Bf-109 and the angles are different.

Not a pilot so forgive me, but a 109 also has the little wings in the back by the tail above the level of the fuselage the 190 has them mounted only about 3/4 up on the fuselage.

About that brace for the tailplane, I'm looking at my model of a Bf-109G and it doesn't have those. My Bf-109E had those. Both models are made by Hasegawa in 1/72 scale.

The Emil was the last model of Bf 109 to have a strutted tailplane.

Just look at the ass end of each plane. The wings on the tail of a 109 are above the fusealge (mounted to the tail), the 190 has them mounted on the body of the aircraft itself

I don't know but the caption when I read actually says FW-190 not Bf-109
It is so because you can see the trailing edge of the wings give it away besides the rough ratio of the length to width of the wing also tells you.

Just for further clarification... it is a Focke-Wulf 190 D9. You can tell it is the D9 model because just ahead of the empennage is the classic 10 inch insert that was used to change the CG of that aircraft when it was changed from the short-nosed version to the longer-nosed D9 version.

Actually the short nose became the long nose Dora because the original radial engine was switched out for a V engine. You can't lengthen the aircraft in the front only. You have to lengthen it in the back to counter balance.
