Japanese aircraft identification
Hey guys, can you help me identify this aircraft:
WW2DB: [Photo] A badly battered Japanese B6N torpedo bomber, wrecked before it could be wheeled from its hangar at the Tinian airfield, Mariana Islands, 30 Jul 1944 Is this a B5N? Perhaps B6N? Or something else? I think it's a B6N torpedo bomber, but the rudder seems to be different. I wonder if it's a hacked-up B6N? The aircraft was indeed found late in the war, so it's possible that the parts might had been mixed-and-matched. I hope your expertise can help! Thanks! |
