RE: l certain key F-22 specs inferior to the F 15? And other concerns
[quote=Northalius;392792]
And the F-22 can hit mach 1.7+ without afterburner now! This was when the F-22 was only cleared to fly at 50,000ft. (15,242m). Since then the F-22 has now been cleared to fly at 65,000ft (19,817m) and higher in the future with upgrades! The altitude advantage increases the range of the F-22's weapons while cutting by forty percent or more the range of the opponents weapons. Dozer takes the F-22 in a climb -Reply #243 F-22 Raptor Discussion Reply #261 "I remember one mission where I ended up solo 1 vs. 6 with F-16's and I shot them all and they never saw me. Yes it's really that good." -Mike "Dozer" Shower (F-22 pilot) Reply #289 F-22 Raptor Discussion Reply #1126 F-22 Raptor Discussion Enjoy -Adrian |

Raptor afterburner behavior looks more turbo-Jet like (Like Mig-25) ? Low bypass engines may require use of reheat (afterburner) at lower maneuvering speed and/or altitudes, this is plainly evident (see link): YouTube - F22 Langley 2007 Friday Evening Demo How this may affect Raptor range(s) I don’t know. F-15 would not have weapons carriage restrictions per say; limited by space inside weapons bay(s). So a meteor type ram/scram-jet weapons could be used (or say ASM-135 ASAT)? F-15 would not have helmet sighting seeker-head fields of view restrictions either. |
