China would not use a nuke or else ....................
I just cant see the USA using nukes on mainland China over Taiwan, that would invite a strike on the USA, do you really think an American President would go that far?

I agree with you. I don't see the US going nuclear over Taiwan either.

But I disagree with your statement about neutron bombs. Playing "dare" with nuclear weapons is not a joke, unless like North Korea you have nothing to lose.

We don't have to go nuclear.

Neutron bomb basically "microwaves" everything within its effective range, thus killing without destroying machines and structures. This act alone will remove our "limited" response restriction. All strategic targets in China will be fair game. We will destroy any and all infrastructures like bridges, power plants, water treatment, communication centers, oil refineries, airports, seaports, dams, ... etc, that we can possibly reach. It will take China at least 50 years to rebuild everything. Chinese aren't that dumb. They won't give us an excuse to do something like that by dropping a neutron bomb.

Unless you mean they can deploy some kind of EMP weapon to destroy Taiwan's electric grid and communications network without killing too many people. That will be a good one. I can see something like this happening.

Oh for Pete sakes. There will be NO Chinese nuke strikes on Taiwan. Mainly because the military, more specifically the 2nd Artillery Force, doesn't control the nukes. The nukes are controlled and maintained by the Central Military Commission, a civilian authority.

Chinese nukes are NOT standing ready with the delivery vehicles. They have to be installed and ready ONLY AFTER the CMC releases them.

While you may think this is just a formality, in practice the 2AF has been so frustrated in civilian control that they've abandoned nukes as a 1st strike option. The civilians would not even acknowledge that they have keys during exercises. Instead, the 2AF has went to salvo route - 5 to 6 conventional warheads to replace one nuke in their 1st strike options.
