AH-64D Longbow still remains the best attack helicopter these days , however if the Kamov got fire and forget id have to change my mind and go with the Shark.

You mean 30mm, right? 30 cal would be about 7.9mm. AFIK, the Apache's gun is the 30mm chain-gun.

True, but the gun on Apache is the M230 chain gun, not the GAU-8 gatling gun.

    M230 fires the 30mm x 113B, whereas GAU-8 uses a much more powerful cartridge, the 30mm x 173.

The Mi-28 currently has the most powerful autocannon installed in a turret mount on a helo (NPPU-28 mounting fitted with one 30mm 2A42 autocannon, which fires the 30mm x 165).

You are right on all counts. Please put it down to one of my 'senior moments'!

    I choose longbow.

but I hope Z-10 can commit the responsibility to defend in our country.Perhaps, it's not the most advanced fight-heli.

as long as you have right crew, good tactics, and planty of them, z 10 would be good enough, As history proved, the best don,t always win, in ww2, even inferior p51's could take on and win against me 262, it is all how you use it,

I believe that there should be an added focus on advanced air to land weapons systems, rather than soley on the bird.

As that great American John McEnroe says,

    "You can NOT be serious!"

The reason that some Apaches have been shot down is...they have been used in combat! Stuff happens in combat...and those Iraqis, Taliban and Al Queda HAVE been trained.
