Aircraft id.....

There is a fairly new cingular / at&t comercial that shows an areal demonstration team, I'm trying to ID the planes in it. They are single engined single seat planes looks like a light fighter or interceptors. They are not F-16's though not sure what they are can someone id?

Now how on earth would I do that? I don't tivo commericals! Thats a major purpose of Tivo and other digital video recorders..... No comercials when I want to watch the show. Actually don't watch that much tv save I had the day off because of a bilzard and I'm not that interested in watching my noral shows with the comericals on to get the thing loaded a quick search is that the name ofthe spot is called jets and its by at&t. OK now I've devoted two whole minutes to this idle curosity. I could probably ID it by looking up the photo's of single seat fighters on FAS.org.

Single tailed single engined plane fairly light structure. Fairly similiar to a talon in general looks but definately only one tail pipe. I'm not ruling out a flogger with the wings forward but I don't think so. Outlet centerline rear of the plane. Definately single crew in a demostration team of at least 5. Flew clean painted glossy black or dark blue.

All I can find online is that Adema sang the song. Cant find the video itself though.

Edit: The Turkish Stars fly F-5s, but they have a very different paint scheme.

Well, without a description, we are grasping at straws here.

It sounds like an F-20, but that doesn't seem likely since not many were built. Could they have been:

HAL Tejas?
China-Pakistan JF-17?
F-CK-1 Ching-kuo

Based on the text description given, I would go with the Ching-kuo, but that is only a guess. (F-20 picture from FAS, all others from wikipedia).

This does sound like an F-20. But as SnowLeopard pointed out, there weren't many built and I believe 2 out of 3 prototypes crashed.

Could it be a Gripen? It's a single seater with a single engine.

Definitely not a Ching-kuo as it's powered by 2 small engines.

Does it have canards? That will help immensely as it's currently the trendy thing to do.

I've only seen that commercial once. I was very impressed but the precision was just too good for either Thunderbirds or Blue Angel. Especially the last scene where their chem trails form a sphere.

Looked more like CGI to me.

Aircraft ID

My guess would be the Aero L-39 Albatross. Breitling has a five aircraft team that they sponsor. It also looks very computer enhanced.

I'll agree that it was probably cgi'd but the planes were taken from somewhere did you recognize the jet? That was the question. I've only seen the commercial twice myself and the first time was going o look a demonstation team second inclination was to try and figure out what the planes were... They had to have been something but what?

The albatross is plausible I thought it was a single seater but didn't have that great a look. I hope I see the commerical sometime again so tht I can actually look at the plane.
