I like a little older aircrafts and the good old Mig-21 scores highest, it was after all the fastest aircraft that served in finnish air force. I also like F-86 Sabre as it was the direct rival for Mig-15, those days dogfighting skills were still needed.

I would like to mention the old Me109 of the Luftwaffe, the UK Spitfire and Hurricane, the *** Zero. All good fighters of their days. At least they could see the guy shooting at him...and now its zip zap zoom or boom.

Modern airwarfare is like a video game, aircraft agility and pilot skills are less important comparing to ww2 and the late 60's.

going along this logic even small airship armed with missiles is potent fighter if it could move fast enough.......

agility is important. That is why so much was invested into TVC by both Russians and Americans.....

2all: I read (not really detailed though) something about a MIG MFI (MFI -- abbr. from multy-functional fighter). The plane looks like a hybrid of MiG31 (or 25) and MiG 29 with frontal small wings (forgot the abbreviation for them ) a la Su33.

anybody heard about that?

// uups, sorry, just saw another topic about MIG 1.44 MFI

Su-30MKI.

Of all the jets F22 still is my favourite.

ANd BTW do you guys know how many fighters in the world today use passive radar technology to track down enemy aircraft(except the f22).
