The term 'Middle East' is an unofficial political term applied by the Americans. It is not the proper or official name for the region.
This forum should be renamed to "West & Central Asia".

It was actually applied by the British and French, and is used by the UN. The Americans had nothing to do with the term.
It would be nice if someday more of it were worth calling "home"...

Middle East is the appropriate term. West Asia is an alternative if it pleases you. But thats not the official stand which others have to take. And Central Asia is not at all in the picture, it is not part of the middle east. To think so is fallacious.

You're right, but alot of those folks have a hand in their pocket, a gun at their head, and nowhere to turn for help. It's hard to get anything done that way.
