and the aid package for Israel is where exactly?
Why am I not surprised its the Liberals harping on Israel? Will they Visit Israeli hospitals and listen to their story's? Where are the Conservative MP quotes if they were part of this visit?

A small gathering of Canadian MPs gathered in the ruins of southern Lebanon on Sunday, to witness firsthand the aftermath of Israel's war against Hezbollah.
UN equipment was brought in to help rescue teams search the rubble after an Israeli airstrike on Qana, Lebanon.
"It's quite obvious that terrible crimes have been committed," Liberal MP Borys Wrzesnewskyj told CTV News.
The MPs were shown ruined homes in Qana, where residents recently buried 29 people killed in an Israeli air strike. More than half of the dead were children.
The Lebanese civilians were hiding in a three-story house when Israeli warplanes attacked the town, about six miles southeast of the port city of Tyre. A missile hit the building and it collapsed.
Israel briefly halted air strikes in the region to investigate the attack, and Israeli Ambassador Dan Gillerman called the day of the incident "horrible, sad and bloody."
But Wrzesnewskyj argued such attacks, even if accidental, must be examined by the international community.
"We need an international body to come and investigate, there are massacres that took place. This sort of thing cannot happen with impunity," he said.
But other MPs were simply overwhelmed by the ruined buildings and tragic stories from survivors.
"When I look all around here, this is too much," said Bloc MP Maria Mourani.
The visit was organized by the National Council on Canada Arab-Relations. But at the last moment, one MP backed out for security reasons: Conservative member Dean Del Mastro.
"The Canadian government did not allow their representative to come here," said the association's Mazen Chouaib. "We had a member of parliament from (Ontario) who was coming with us but they pulled him the night the delegation was to leave."
The Conservative government pledged a further $25 million in aid to Lebanon this week, making Canada the top contributor, according to Minister of International Cooperation Josee Verner.
"Our first commitment, our announcement, was $5.5 million, now we add $25 million, so in all it's $30.5 million, and I must say Canadians will be proud that we are at the top of the donors, and per capita we are number one," Verner told CTV's Question Period on Sunday.
But some of the MPs touring southern Lebanon said the aid comes too late, and that Canada should have taken an early stance against the conflict.
"This time we were not a voice of moderation, we were echoing what United States foreign policy was dictating," said NDP MP Peggy Nash.

LOVED this bit of false propaganda:
Actually, a missile did NOT hit the building, it hit 70 meters away, and the building collapsed some hours LATER. WHY were all those kids left in a building that had been bomb-damaged?A missile hit the building and it collapsed.

Bunch o' clueless buttinski creeps. Notice no tears were shed for any Israeli casualties, nor any responsibility assigned for Hezbollah's start of the mess.

Israel gets aid packages from the Oversea Jewish population + evangelical Christians in USA. Lebanon with its puny population can't possibly hope for its expatriats to get it similar funding. And, 1/4 of its population got displaced. It needs the money a lot more.Originally Posted by Alistriwen

Simpathy for war victims is nice but this visit simply reaks of hypocracy.....
Only one word comes to mind here: ********.Israel gets aid packages from the Oversea Jewish population + evangelical Christians in USA. The Arab world is far larger than the Jewish world and far more wealthy, and several Arab governments comitted money. It's just the normal double standard. You honestly think groups of philanthropists are able to give as much aid as world governments? That kind of thinking makes me laugh and cry at the same time, what is the human race coming to? Non Israeli-Jews are no different from non Lebanese Muslims they can all donate money, but there is a huge gap in the abilities of individuals and world governments.
For your information:
Lebanon — Population: 3,826,018
Israel — Population: 6,276,883
The number isn't even double, and Lebanon has a larger diasporic population per capita than Israel, most people who move to Israel or are born there do not leave. Seriously, that degree in statistics is doing you no good Tphuang.

This is a petition demanding that Israel be reimbursed for the damages caused to that nation due to Hezbollah over the month long period. There are currently over 100,000 signatures.
Don't forget that, what, 600 million dollars Hezbollah got from Iran.....
Lebanon not getting aid? Gimmi a freaking break!!!
Looks like those assclowns are now catching the heat for their hypocracy...

tht's given to Hezbollah. What do you think they are going to use that money for? Spread their terrorist message to Lebanese civilians. Last thing we need is for Hezbollah to gain more credibility in Lebanon and the Arab world.Originally Posted by smilingassassin

not sure where you got the larger disaporic population per capita than Israel from. There are plenty of Jewish people living in North America. I don't see anywhere close to that many Lebanese. And I have read news about Jewish American communities making substantial donation to Israel. I haven't read the same about Lebanese Americans.
Hezbollah is a terrorist orgainization, they shouldn't be getting any money yet who's the first to support them 100%? Iran!Originally Posted by tphuang

Jews who were not born, do not live in, and never have lived in Israel. If I went to live in Germany, I'd be part of the Canadian diasporic population, it isn't association by creed. Your attitude is part of the same that has infected the world which equates Jews with Israel. Just like other racists associate blacks with crime. Many Jews don't even support Israel philosophically, let alone financially and Jews who never lived in Israel aren't part of its diaspora. The reason Lebanon has a greater per-capita diasporic population is because those people who migrate to Israel do so in the face of all the problems and plan to live with them. Those born there are normally fiercely loyal and there is nowhere else in the world like there to go. Jews feel at home there because it is the only place they can avoid the overwhelming anti-semitism the world is rife with. It is unique in more ways than being the single most talked about country in the world after the U.S.A.There are plenty of Jewish people living in North America
me being racist? wow, getting back at me now aren't you? Maybe you should read back on some of the stuff you wrote in the other thread. That's what bigotry really is. If you don't think Jews should be equated with Israel, just say so. But taking cheap shots is another matter.Originally Posted by Alistriwen
