Newb.

Good day to all...

My name is Shawn, I'm 25 years old out of Pennsylvania.

I'm a SSG/E6 in the PA Army National Guard, MOS is 44C30 (Financial Management Technician). I have spent the last 3 years on Active Duty. I served in support of OEF from 3/05 until 3/06 and in support of OIF from 8/06 until 8/07.

In OEF I was the Battalion Operations NCO for the 208th Finance Battalion (Now the 208th Financial Management Company (FMC)), and was a Disbursing Agent in OIF for the 125th FMC out of Hawaii.

I came across the WAB on a google search and have been trolling through threads for the past week. I finally joined up to throw my 1/50th of a dollar around here and there. I find it to be excellent food for thought considering I am inept when it comes to international politics. Not to mention the reading on the topics of discussion are the single best way to pass the slower parts of the work day.

So... greetings, and see you around the forums!

A money-bunny! Well, howdy again, Sergeant. Hope you like the place.

If Shawn ain't a total tosser (and I bet he's NOT), then he's not getting paid what he's worth. That's pretty much true across the board. Second lieutenants/ensigns excepted.

Speaking of 2LTs, my first sergeant once told a butter bar if he wanted to speak to him, he must first go through the Private First Class who worked for the 1SG. He finished it off by telling the 2LT that he must go that route because the 1SG has more trust in the PFC... he's been promoted twice.

I apologize to any R.O.T.C. 2LT's out there... or any 2LTs without prior enlisted experience

No need to apologize - 2LT is a learning grade, and a little bit of humble pie isn't a bad thing.

When I was a 2LT I had no problem with my 1SG if he told me this......so long as they both saluted and called me sir.

Had a CSM who wouldn't salute 2LTs....so I used to call him Sarge. Used to piss him off. One day he passed me and said good morning, LT without a salute. I said howdy Sarge. He stopped and started to lecture me about his years of expereince. I let him finish and then told him he wasn't doing a very good job sharing that experience and helping to train LTs if he wouldn;'t recognize what every PFC knew...that a brand new 2LT outranked a CSM and was a commissioned officer and therefore worthy of a salute. He thought for a moment, gave a me a salute and said Good Morning Sir. I returned it and said Good Morning Setgeant Major.

We got along fine after that.

That said, welcome to WAB.
