How Ya'll Doin?

I am new to the forum and am interested in all military history. I mainly focus on WWII. Am interested in Pacific Campain, my Grandfather was A Machinegunner and Parachutist in the 1st Mar Div WWII. He old me a few of his stories before he died. I was the only person he ever talked about the war with. He told me all his stories te summer before I wentto Boot Camp. Ever since then I have been studying the Pac Campain.

Welcome any info from anyone especially if it involves him. His name was SSgt George Pettyjohn, he retired as a Drill Instructor from Parris Island.

In WWII he was in:

the Soloman Islands
Austrailia
Papua New Guinea
New Britain
Guadalcanal
Saipan
Okinawa
Iwo Jima
