James,
Welcome to the board. Thanks for posting up the latest report out of the center.

I see that, and also that from his perspective what the CTC says is as good as US policy.

BTW, how much exposure does the CTC get on its products. I could ask James that as well.

I don't have a great feel for the full exposure that the CTC gets since I work just down the hall (i.e., I don't have an outsider's perspective). However, Bruce Hoffman is one of the senior fellows, and his book Inside Terrorism is the standard primer on terrorism in the field, and so they certainly have the right people on the team to have credibility within the field (while I mention a senior fellow, Jarret Brachman and Brian Fishman as "junior" researchers have produced some great work and have co-authored many of the CTC reports).

From an average Joe perspective, while they probably are not a brand name, they do make it onto national news programs what seems like a few times a month, whether being interviewed for a news segment on some development or for a news documentary, and the Harmony and Disharmony report did make a splash across the blogosphere. What I can say for certain is that they get a steady stream of VIP and foreign/domestic dignitaries/politicians that get briefed by them when they come to vist West Point.

For an example of some of the news programs where they've shown their knowledge and expertise, here's a link, jarret brachman - Google Video
