Hello everyone

As a new user, I would just like to say hello to all members here.

Basing my judgment on twenty minutes of thread browsing, I have concluded that my time here will be an unpleasant one. I am not conservative/republican, and will probably be the person being ganged in thread discussions (mostly war/religion related).

Regardless, I just wanted to say hello, and I welcome all ideas.

Sincerely,

Buu

Welcome. Not to turn this thread into a political discussion, but what are you? And whose colors do you fly? (what country are you from) Filling out your user profile might help.

Well, I was born in (and currently reside) in Canada, although my family and bloodline are all Turkish. Politically, I'd consider myself liberal, although there are a select few issues that I take a conservative approach to. If you'd like to know more, feel free to ask.

Hmm. Well good luck. From my experience Julie is liberal, so maybe she'll back you up a little bit. If you ever get desperate, and I agree with you, you can fall back on me (though given where we are that would be a desperate move indeed )

So, what are they?

Welcome, by the way! I'm new too!

Feanor: I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the welcome.

RamHammer: I'd say, their opposition to abortion and gay marriage are two of the larger issues. Certain religious aspects I appreciate more on the right wing side as well, but we'll get to those points as time unfolds. In any case, thanks for the welcome as well.

Feanor, I'm cut to the quick that you didn't include me. I was raised in a socialist country and approach my libertarianism more from a leftward angle than a right leaning one. I'm just a sentient leftie is all, and don't believe America is the most evil nation in the world.

HAH. I don't either. I just haven't seen enough of you around, where as I saw Julie getting torn apart in the Democrat bashing thread by bluesman. Sorry. I'll keep you in mind though

I presume that you're Muslim from two clues: your icon, and the sense of victimhood that you've managed to express in your very first post in our community.

Well, welcome aboard, and please, go ahead and indulge your sense of persecution.

Welcome.

Neither conservative, nor liberal.

Hope to hear more from you, especially on the Iraqi Kurd and Turkey equation.

Now, now Dave. Why would you leave Glyn out?

Welcome Buu ( I still have my own teeth by the way!) The perceptive Bluesman put his finger on it right away. It's pointless to come here feeling that you are victimised before you begin. We play on a level playing field here. No one is assumed to be superior to anyone else. For sure, some are more intelligent and others are more experienced but we are all here to learn and to share in common fellowship. If you possess a sense of humour and realise that the barks are worse than the bites you should be OK. If you intend to beat the drum for your religion you will not be very popular. The choice is yours.

There are other Turks here, such as Ucar, a military officer, and BigK, a former gendarmerie sergeant. Also, you have misconceived the atmosphere in the board with regards to moral conservatism, you'll find that most members are actually more morally "liberal".
