Thanks for the welcome, WAB gang! I will add to my profile soon. I am not in the military, though, so I will probably do more reading than posting. My son just joined the U. S. Army and I am trying to learn about the military. I look forward to reading!

Welcome to the WAB Toby! My father said that there was nothing that made him prouder nor nothing that made him worry more than having a son who was a soldier.

How do I feel about my son being in the Army? The answer is complicated but my pride takes precedence over all my other feelings which include: fear, anxiety, worry, relief that he will not go active duty right away and happiness that he has achieved his dream. I feel proud that my son has joined the profession of arms. He has a lot to learn....and the more he learns and the more of a soldier he becomes the further from me he will go....but I like where he is going.

Now back to the joke thread!! How come there are no military jokes there?
