The Israeli attack on Iraq's nuclear reactor was in '81. What is "conveniently" forgotten is that Iran attacked and missed the same reactor in Sept.'80.

Which is evidence for how the U.S. upset the balance of power; no, there is no one to counter Iran, except the U.S., collation forces, and Israel.

I know this does not mean anything, but my Father is a combat vet.

He was a Captain in the IDF, but was there for only four years.

He fought in the First Lebanon War: he was part of the invasion force in 1980, being stationed there for two years.

I applaud everyone who has fought for their country. I am contemplating doing the same, by joining the IDF. However, I am only 16, and I need to think this through.

On a side note: How do I edit my signature and other things like that.

How old is your dad?

They were removing a viable and in fact sure threat.

Iran is doing that now. They are constantly getting threats, and can defend themselves.
Are you Iranian?

How would Iraq wipe out Israel? Has the collation found any WMDs?
According to Israeli intel the WMD's were sent to Syria by truck before the coalition forces moved into area. We were waiting for the UN weapons inspectors to verify WMD's. While the UN inadvertently or intentionally gave time for the weapons to be moved to Syria as seen by Israeli intel.

Besides the Israeli intel in Gulf-1 SoDamInsane shot loads of Russian Scud's into Israel that could have easily have been loaded with 'dirty nuke' and 'biological' warheads.

SoDam himself threatened to destroy American and Israeli targets with "WMD's. It may have been brash empty threats, perhaps. But that is the price a cruel dictator has to pay for empty threats when coupled with trucks moving over the Syrian border.

It's great to be sixteen, isn't it? Ignorance is bliss. If you last a year here at WAB you might be better for it. It'll be great to see your views a year from now.

I like metal, which includes many sub-genres, with death metal being one of them. It's almost like an addiction: You start with just plain old metal, like megadeth. Then, you seek something "heavier", and you go to scream-o. Then, you need something even "heavier", and you go to death metal. It's just the way it works.
Life Metal...I'd rather hear that. Get out of the death culture Dude.
Have a good time.

I'm not sure, but I think brokensickle and I are the only evangelical Christians on the board.

Are you particularly religious, RamHammer?

My dad is 45 years old, might be 47, don't remember.

I am not so much religious, but traditional. I follow the customs and Jewish rules, such as keeping kosher, and observing the sabbath. However, I believe in Evolution. It's kind of a mix. See what I mean?

Brokensickle: I have HW, it is late. I will rebuttle your point some other time.

What are the requirements if you are not living in Israel to join the IDF?

Is it being a Jew, and having an Israeli passport?
Foreign volunteers, so you gotta be a Jewish non-Israeli. Volunteers with health profiles 82 and above go to Infantry. Most are sent to usually Nachal. If you got super flat feet or other med issues or just want to, you can request to serve the Armored Corps.

Pretty much, be a Jew and be healthy, and want to serve your homeland.

Check out mahal2000.com, that's the program's official website.

If I received Israeli citizenship, then would it count as me being an Israeli, and i would be drafted for something?

Or, is that my ticket to getting the three years of service, and being treated like any other Israeli?

I can also speak hebrew; is that a plus?

I can't join any of the programs that mahal200 has to offer: both my parent have Israeli citizenships.

Hebrew is obviously a plus.

Nowadays, even if both your parents are citizens, if you aren't you can join.

You can still serve 3 years. You can serve more if you want. You can extend your service from 18 months to pretty much as much as you like. That's what I'm doing. Going through mahal however, will assure that you don't get put into a crappy unit as a jobnik. If you're a citizen it can happen, and you got no say about it. Your options or benefits from getting citizenship are not affected by service.
