Introductions

Hello

After reading these forums for a while, I found many of the discussions to be quite intelligent, and many of the posters to be very thoughtful.

I am currently an English teacher in South Korea, but I have an overiding love of military history, and would like to learn as much as possible about modern weapon systems, tactics and organisation.

I figure this is the right place.

So, hi there, I guess.

Greetings Swampthing and welcome to the WAB .Seeing as you have the impression that we have intelligent conversations here,I would advise you to stay away from the "I'll be away for a few days" thread.

Ha! Dude, are you serious?

My primary interest has always been medieval history, mainly the Byzantine Empire in the 12th century (the Komnenid emperors kicked ass).

I am starting to become more interested in modern warfare, so I imagine this would be a good place to learn.

Welcome to WAB Swampthing. I live about 4 miles from Hayle! Now do the right thing (something a swampthing ought to manage) and complete your public profile so the members can see who is recycling and agitating electrons at us.

Fáilte Swampthing, and thanks, you've just reminded me of the Swamp Thing comics, I loved them when I was a teenager .

Its just south of Incheon, and outside of Seoul. Its a great little city, although the smells can be.........interesting.

Just noticed that you did indicate Kimpo! Haven't finished my coffee yet. And yes, the smells can really get to you, especially in the heat of the summer. Winter's a little better.

The first winter almost killed me!

As an Aussie I was not used to such cold temperatures.
