Howdy

Howdy everyone - new to the board. My background: USAF Academy for college, F-15C's on active duty, F-16's in the ANG, and currently in F-22 training for the ANG.

Thanks - Dave -

Hello again Scrapdog and welcome to the WAB.Don't forget to speak to one of the moderators about the Military Professionals program. It is an eclectic group you have joined, members from all pver the world both military and non-military.A word to the wise, watch out for the Brits, they tend to think of this as a rugby game and like to gang tackle .

Awright, DAVE! That's quite a resume'. We got some other fighter chimps in here someplace - make sure you get us all straight about the UNCLAS aspects of the interminable F-22 threads. Your airplane sure can generate a lot of silly talk on the Internet!

So, where did you do UPT? I have a buddy that was an IP at Randolph and Laughlin.

ANYhoo, welcome aboard, and get some threads up real soon, so we can tell if you're the Real Deal(tm). After all the poseurs we've fought off over the past four years, I'd say the odds are you're another, but in case you're NOT, I hope you have some fun here.

But if you ARE, I hope your ass-crack grows shut.

Welcome to WAB, Scrapdog. There are a number of the old aeronauts here, as well as the bold variety. You are one of the few new members that have bothered to complete their public profile AND written an introduction ( of more than monosyllabic nonsense ). I look forward to reading your posts.

Wow, thanks for the warm welcome. I did my UPT at Sheppard AFB...got my first choice of F-15C's. Flew a tour at Langley, then got out early and transferred my commitment over to the ANG...flew F-16's for about 2 1/2 years and am currently learning to fly the F-22. So far, VERY COOL jet. I will certainly keep you entertained on its unclass capes. (I also fly for Continental Airlines).

I'm a huge fan of history as well - WW2 history, so I'm more than glad to BS about either flying fighters in the USAF or history any day of the week!

Okay, sounds legit. You said 'jet', not 'plane'; you said 'capes', and a couple other clues that at the minimum makes you sound like you've at least been around the right people.

Seriously, you can have no idea what we've had to put up with - especially from military aviation enthusiasts - on this Board. Seems we've had a whole wing's worth of barstool fighter jocks through here, and I love nothing more than finding them out and then humiliating them, before our gunslingin' mods send 'em on the Virtual Boot Hill.

I'm the guy that holds the 'n00b hammer'; if they can get past my first flame-o-gram, they'll usually be a credit to the Board (unlike a complete disgrace such as myself ).

You passed - for now.

But tell me about that cool handle - where did that callsign come from?

My c/s is actually Scrappy...it certainly isn't one of pride! LOL As most fighter pilot callsigns, it comes from being very fired up after quite a large consumption of jack and cokes and trying to start something way over my head. I guess I can have quite a fiery disposition at times.

And for continental, I'm an F/O on the 737. Again, thanks for the warm welcomes.
