Greetings from JungleMike
Greetings to the WAB!
I'm an ex-missionary kid, lived in Malawi, Africa for eight years. I'm a ten year U.S. Navy vet. Worked aviation supply on two carriers and at a training squadron in Florida. I'm not an expert on anything in particular but feel that I have a base of knowledge on a lot of things. I've been around many cultures and I have friends around the world. I love my country, respect and admire my country's allies and friends: I truly wish that reconciliation with hostile countries could be achieved where both sides benefit. Yet I know that we live in a reality that does not often give that chance. I respect anybody who wears their nation's uniform, as they are many times called to do things that they don't agree with yet do it anyway. I have no beef with any nationality but do oppose several governments. Looking forward to talking on this board and I'm glad I ran across it. God bless. |

Welcome.
Sure would like to know your views on Africa. They are so few around out here who are old Africa hands.

To Ray,
Jambo, Rafiki! I used about 1/8th of my swahili! I only lived one year in Kenya (Rift Valley Academy-Kijabe) and the rest of the time in Malawi. I have been out of africa (no pun intended) for almost 30 years but returned last year for two weeks to Lubumbashi, DRC and stayed in Jo'Burg for about four days with some friends. I have many views about Africa and I met many great Indian friends while I was there too. My closest chum was a young Sikh named Bikramajit Singh but everybody called him "Jim". Never knew why. I have always wanted to go to India but have only got as close as Sri Lanka when I was in the US Navy. To Sapper, Oh man, did I goof! Of course that is the Union flag! So sorry. |
