Hello:)

Gosh, I've been posting here for quite while and I just realized that I haven't introduce myself...Sorry.
Well, I'm from Serbia originally and I used to live in USA for around two years (in Minneapolis and San Francisco) but due to the unfortunate chain of events ( I got divorced) I ended up back in Serbia...As profession goes, I'm a industrial designer with special passion for aircrafts (I made my first aircraft when I was 6 years old, it was 1:72 scale model, Czechoslovakian L-39 trainer AC). During the war times I got involved in military-politics-economy-sociology-psychology studies while trying to make sense of everything that happened around me and that mark follows me till today. I like to discuss on various topics ranging from purely technical issues to global politics. Although situation here (in Serbia) is pretty much swampy looking, world affairs board is an amazing place to share views and opinions and I really like to participate in those events.
Again I would like to say hello to everyone and hope that we will make things better by exchanging views on various things.
Huh that was a long one... Cheers folks

Welcome indeed. Do you have any snow at present? I understand much of continental Europe is rather warmer than average.

Hey tigger, who is this "Naught" fellow that we're supposed to fear? And why is he so fearsome?

Hi Glyn,
No I haven't seen snow in last two years (since I came back form the US). It's really disturbing thing and it doesn't bode well for us here. If the north of Europe is cold and have snow it could mean only one thing when spring comes. Floods and a lots of them. I saw NASA's chart of Serbia and flooding prognosis, it looks very very bad. I think a year ago we saw glimpses of what is coming, when Danube water level rose rapidly in a day or two, most of the lower Belgrade near the river bank was flooded. That never happened in last 70 years, not with such paste and magnitude. Also I was visiting relatives near the Bosnian border when flood wave came there last year. Actually I was in the middle of it. It is really hard to believe how much damage it can do. Near my relatives house, there is a small river, well maybe not even a river it looks more like stream with average water level of just 20 cm. But when flood came it rose up to 300% times and flooded all the way to the house door step. And all that in two days, from 20 cm of depth it rose up all the way to the river bank, went over it and flooded some 10 meters around it, all the way along actual river flow. Also grass is different, there are no flowers on the fields. Just green grass. It looks more like amazon jungle with the rotting plants and all that humidity. Peasants say that, since there is so much water, plants grow abnormally fast and than they simply suffocate since there is so much of them. Life cycle has speed up, creating real chaos among usual species that live there.
It looks very very grim...

Hi Ironduke,
I used to live on the Colfax Ave. couple of blocks away from Calhoun lake, I think it was like 35th street and Colfax Ave. Really liked the Comic Heaven store on Lagoon ave. Every time I went to buy groceries, I went there and was simply glued to the comic books stand. I had the best time of my life there...How are things now days?
