Defense Professionals Program

Dear Members,

After a few weeks of deliberation of what form the Defense Professionals group would take, we have decided to broaden the focus of the group to include all civilians who have worked in defense-related industries and civilian agencies in a professional, defense-related capacity.

To be eligible for membership in the Defense Professionals group, you must be an established professional currently working in a defense-related career, or be retired from one.

Eligible careers:
  • Established professionals working in or retired from defense industry firms (e.g. BAE, Boeing, Lockheed-Martin, etc.)
  • Established professionals working in or retired from a career for a national defense agency (e.g. Department of Defense (US), War Department (UK), Ministries of Defense, etc.)
  • Established professionals working for governmental organizations for the purposes of national security
  • Established professionals working for recognized national security groups; established think-tanks that formulate national security theories and the necessary means and mechanisms with which to implement them.

The primary means we will use to verify your eligibility for membership in the Defense Professional group will be your email address. You can either register on the forum using your email address that certifies you work in these fields, or verify your username and the email address used to register for the forum privately by contacting selected staff members with your verifiable email address.

You can also have a verified individual who is established on this forum and has means to certify that you in fact work in these fields vouch for you. Some brief details may be helpful but not required in most instances, and we will protect your privacy.

    Also:

  • Established professionals working for private military companies may be eligible (e.g. Blackwater USA, Aegis Defence Services, Kellogg Brown and Root, SCG International Risk, DynCorp International, and defunct companies, etc.)

We will be verifying eligibility for the last group on a case-by-case basis, and as always, will respect your privacy and not divulge any information about your employment or work. You are free to share any information about yourself and your work that is of a non-sensitive or classified nature.

By becoming a member of the Defense Professionals group, you will have a blue username, and all of the same benefits accorded to senior members (750+ posts) and Military Professionals (which includes expanded PM capacity, and other features).

Note: Membership in the Defense Professionals group is restricted to those who meet above all the above criteria and perform or have performed defense-related work in a professional capacity.

If you qualify as for both the Military and Defense Professional groups, we will stack the titles upon request.

Regards, Ironduke

Hoi Geurtjalink!

Niagara Falls Air Show

August 11 & 12
I am so happy
airbase has on station KC-135 and C-130
we have not had an airshow since 2004 and on that event was raining to much for the Blue Angels [favorite] so I am happy very happy that the Thunderbirds are scheduled first demo team with female pilot!
Our runway is over 10,000 feet long and almost 200 ft wide so we can get just about any plane I love to see the static displys and walk thru some cargo planes C-17 in 2004 was cool
Is there any F-22 that tour with airshows?

I had my heart attack about four and a half years ago. I died in my favourite chair at home, but had (no less than 4) paramedics in attendance at the time. As they had defibrillators ready I was brought back into the world. I feel fine now, just have to avoid lifting heavy weights. As that was never my favourite task anyway I was delighted to be told not to do it! So take the doctors advice and you too can feel fine. Welcome to the forum
