Howdy

Howdy:

I stumbled upon y'all's corner of cyberspace form a dogpile.com search on "newest mbt." It was a link to What is Best MBT in Asia?...20 minutes later, I came up for air. I learned more about Indian Army tanks & CONOPS in that 20 minutes than I have in all my years on earth. Good stuff.

If you are interested in my background, feel free to mash the link in my signature & I am more than amenable to answering questions.

Y'all seem to have quite a nice forum up & running.

Good day to you all.

Thank you for the hearty welcome.

I must admit I was somewhat surprised at the content & context of some of hte posts I read in my initial foray. I usually only get nitty-gritty CONOPS discussion with another OA guy at my work site...& not much of that recently. I wear too many hats and the folks who sign my check want less analysis and more visual stimulation. [sarcasm]Data is a crutch. We ought to learn to operate without it.[/sarcasm]

Random Vignette (Some of y'all might appreciate the irony of this.)
My first assignment for my current employer peters out. For my second assignment, I am to develop a scenario & some CONOPS for a new-fangled system...for a cavalry unit. Cavalry? With my background straight outta Uncle Sam's tender embrace? Ahh, but all was well...it was for UK cavalry, so nobody else knew squat about how they fought, either! Luckily, the customer provided a salty old Scot (I'm not &%$!+ English) cavalryman to fill in where the literature gave up. For a time, I juggled US Mech/Tank, US Cav, & UK Cav orgs & nomenclatures and did my level best not to confuse those I briefed with the squadron/troop/regiment mismatch in US/UK naming conventions.

Welcome Jfruser,

You sound very busy.
I just started shooting 4 years ago. I haven't yet went hunting but when time permits and I get a hunting lic. i'll be on it.
I have a Ruger mini 30 7.54x39 thats a fun gun to shoot but as accurate as a rubber band gun when shooting the cheep Russian rounds.
And a Marlin 22 long rifle that will shoot 1" pattern at 100yrds. w/peep sight. It's my favorite.
And a Remington 270 short mag. w/ leopold scope that I consistantly hit the 2ft. gong at 750yds. at my local gun range. I really like this rifle but the rounds are expensive and after shooting 20 rounds I've usually had enough for the day.
