Stryker Takes a Bombload! And Crew Survives!

Damn, I know there are some Stryker haters in this forum but I thought you guys would be interested in this:

http://www.strategypage.com/gallery/...2004101123.asp

It seems that a Stryker was hit by a 500lbs road-side bomb and even though it was trashed and it was flipped over, it's crew survived without any injury and it actually could drive away under its own power. That's damn tough if you ask me.

Wow that's pretty impressive. That's a pretty big bomb.

We'll want to get Captain Shek's expertise in on this one before we jump to any conclusions. Strategypage has been known to get the sticky little details wrong in the past.

On the other hand, that Stryker got seriously FUBAR'ed (obviously) and if the crew really did survive intact, then Holy Sh-t!

Here's the platoon leader discussing the incident.

No, Captain but it would help to know what the platoon leader discussed. There's no link in your post.

Where was this in Iraq? Afganistan? Eastern Europe? Because if this had happened in Iraq CNN would be all over it for days.

If it didn't happen in the Green Zone, if an insurgent being paid as a stringer by CNN wasn't tipped off to the attack prior, or if a higher quality video didn't surface on the AQ website, then it wouldn't be on the MSM.
