Trishul is a failure.I dont think much is going to come out of it.Maybe an Indo-Israeli project to developt a Barak-II ?

Marut again failed because of the engine.

If you note , the country is trying to gain some errrm self-reliance in arms and has failed many a times at it.

Our labs arent delivering the moon either and our forces wont except anything but the best...there is this gap.Until we are able to plug the gap , discrepancies as such pointed out will continue.

Hey , the INSAS is being manufactured and in substantial numbers.
Never said it wasn't...

As for the Ak-47 , i think it is will be mainly used in area CI intensive areas.
I don't want to sound rude but it seems like someone couldn't make up their mind on bullet/small arm issues. I have heard the line of reasoning before about using two different assault rifles in two different calibers for what really amounts to the same mission...

India is also picking up the Tavor for special forces units. That could be simply written off as SF units wanting to feel "sexier"...

Ok that was what I had been getting at. Not trying to insult you guys...

Dude , i know very little about small arms , so dont ask me why arent using INSAS in all places.

There was a report long back that US soldiers were using AKs while on certain missions...i was trying to explain this case in relation with that.

No problem. I have heard the official reason for the two different guns.

The AK-47 works much better for combat then an M-9 pistol...

The only reason some US troops have AKs was that armor and artillery units that were called on to operate as infantry didn't have enough M-16s/M-4s. That problem has been largely corrected to my knowledge.

As Samudra said,if the products are not satisfactory it is better to dicard it and go for the best import.Rather than trying to appease the EGO.

But at the same time what is your opinion on pinaka and Brahmos?, i believe these are under induction.

And how many nations on the planet have them?? And Russian tanks have fared well in Indian sub continent, so keep your worthy comments to your bottomless pit.

Good for India. The better armed they are, the more casualties they'll be able to inflict on China and Pakistan in any potential wars.

They could also do the same to Western tanks.

Russian tanks don't fare well against the Apache, A-10, or the Abrams.

The t-90 isnothing but another piece of crap t-72 with some upgrades.

The old M1's are still superior to the T-90.

Yeah, but India doesn't have those.

I'd pick China over India anyday. The Chinese have owned India.
