Probably true. It's burned out though, so they probably just wrote that one off. I wonder what happened to it.

That tank's fine. It's not like the insurgents have anything potent enough to pose a serious threat to our Abrams anyways. The most ( usually ) they can do to it is shoot the treads off with an RPG and temporarily imobilize it.
And, you gotta have alot of balls and be a damn good shot to do that; something iraqi insurgents are FAR FROM |

Yeah it takes balls to blow yourself up.
Keep in mind most of the time these attacks are directed at innocent civilians. That's easy success for them. A Chechen insurgent on the other hand, I'd worry about. I have seen the reports of the tank slaughters in grozny and such. I think i'd give the Chechens the award for best deployment of hollow charge/tank hunting teams. |

Thank you. Interesting to me as I have family in the Marines in Iraq, 2nd and 3rd tours and they rave about the M1 and it ability to take multiple hits from RPG's. Their biggest concern with the tanks are enormous IED's, not RPGs so I was naturally curious to compare family experiences to what people are saying on the web to the contrary.
