Personally, I think the city is under enforced rather than the police being outgunned. No amount of firepower will do if no one, or no will, is there to enforce the law.

Military Officer Politics However, if you do a search for "starship troopers" and click "show post" then every single post with the words "starship troopers" will pop up. The good news is there are only about 3 pages of them. ![]() |

I can't figure out why so many choose not to serve. It was the greatest time of my life. Since getting out life has been rather uneventful, even compared to my time as a deputy sheriff and a bodyguard.
One of the first things I mentioned about myself after joining the WAB, was that I was looking to reenlist. That now depends on two things. 1.How fast I can pay off and sell a few things because the paycut is gonna kill me. 2.Who wins the oval office. No way in hell I serve under either of the socialists, and I'm not too crazy about McCain either. I think alot of people are now under the impression if you join up you are going to Iraq. Wrong. And if you go to Iraq your going to see combat. Wrong again. I turned 18 in july and was in basic by august. I didn't have a chance at going to college, didn't have a skill and wanted to do somethig with my life. When I got out and came home I found the same handful of slackers(former high schoolclassmates) that laughed at me for enlisting. Now I earn three times more than they do (and still haven't been to college), seen the world and had adventures that would never been possible on my own. And unlike these tree huggin hippies, I made a real difference in the world by helping to bring democracy to countries that would have never seen it. I really can't see why someone would not want to serve. |

Service as a way to "Earn" rights that the US Constitution guarantees to all citizens is a bad idea. No matter how you slice it.

People learn all those things that you mention having never set foot in a military environment. And some people in the military don't have those things. But why doesn't someone start a new thread. Before we hijack and ruin a perfectly good one ![]() |
