The Army always made me smile when they came on to RAF Stations, bigging it up as if the RAF had never seen the Army up close before, you could here the yawns for miles. The RM never did because they didn't have to & I have sunk many a tin with them. The Paras, well they were just pathetic in their attempts to 'impress'. These writers however all have one thing in common, they 'heard' they 'have a mate who said' there is a 'rumour' but never anything specific. I have seen the Army in action, take GW1, the Army's NBC drills and eqpt were abysmal to the point that Winterbourne Gunner had to go out to salvage the situation. In their report they conceded the RAF were light years ahead and this set against 'Line Infantry'. There are complete idiots, as these thread demonstrate, in all areas on the military and those in glass houses should not throw stones. The RAF Regt has a massive allegiance towards each other regardless of rank , train hard and have shown their metal in action both in Iraq and Afgan but never mentioned by the so called 'in the know' types in these threads, I wonder why? Now lets see who has a sense of humour failure?
You may well roll your eyes. Probably dribble, too. You must be retarded and I think you are positively crass to come on this forum to spout such rubbish. You don't even have the decency to get on the Introductions page even though you must have seen the suggestion to do so immediately after rockape87s post. Clear off!

Like the 36 months in Northern Ireland (no tanks!) UN duties in Cyprus(no tanks) Apart from being a Recce Regiment for years (no tanks) Yes, apart from that we did have the brains not to rough it!!! As for T igger if you have done BATUS in the last 15yrs or so, he is the person that makes it all possible as he is the BATUS WO. He's the person who organizes the Flights..Transport.. Accomodation..Food...Pay etc. At the moment I can't think what else this "Tankie" has on his plate, but I'm sure he's not sat in his "Comfortable little Tank" not roughing it.

did i not fortell enraged members of the SRDG (Underwater Knife-Fighters) turning up and bigging themselves up? and fcuk me, the idea of any crab slagging off any other cnut - even some donkey-whalloper - for not 'roughing it' brings the tears rolling down my face!

but seriously, there's nothing soft about life in the Womens Royal Auxillary Balloon Corps, some of them have even been known to go into work after lunch on a Friday afternoon - though thats probably the ones who transfered in from 22SAS and need to work on their phys and weapons skills to bring them up to speed with the rest of the unit. crabtastic!

(and for the chimps - and the odd septic - that is sarcasm)

The V Max 1200 V4 is a beaut...Iv'e had my 600 race tuned.. with a Fuel Commander and a set of race pipes plus exhaust(Akrapovic) it is the proverbial sh off a shovel. My lads have bikes but they won't go out with me as they call me a "nutter" I've always had fast cars and bikes and because I'm pushing 60 it ain't gonna stop me.

No worries mate, like I said I doubt the RAF would be hanging on to the Regiment if they saw no value in it, and as I said raging rivalries seem to be a fact of life in HM's Armed Forces so I wouldn't take anything said too seriously. Hopefully I'll be able to judge people on their merits rather than their capbadge, although the Royal Irish are in 16 AA Bde, and I know the Paras are legendary for their disdain of all outsiders, so maybe I'll get into the slagging match to spite them.

dave, your never too old keep on riding pal. what type of suzy you ordered, is it the old s rad or one of the k type ones? If your lads wont go out with you you must be nutter ha ha, can you get your knee down? i have no chance on my max, its great straight line racing but the vmax is a bit of a nightmare round corners which makes it more fun.
