Nah. Expected it as soon as Kaddafi started to grow normal. And it's a good thing for Libya. Might prevent them from falling into Jihadi hands.

The French always sold weapons to unreliable regimes. Shame on them.

Nope, expect 2007/8 to see a series of large deals with Libya.
I count around 40 odd programs waiting to be signed. Its going to be the biggest defence haul ever for Libya

Who doesn't ? If anything Russia and the US are probably upset they didn't get there first.

Whilst the Bulgarian nurse affair was a disgrace thats the way that Libya works and it was resolved eventually. Despite that Libya does need to be rewarded for "coming on side", otherwise the chances of bringing a country like Syria onside are minimal.

Yes, Russia sells weapons to these countries. But Russia is Russia - we are the bad guys, bullies, empire of evil and so on. And who are the French are?.. The old western democracy, the NATO member, the close US ally - which provides with arms the very recent "terrorists" from the American list of "countries-rogues".

Most of Europe, including Russia, are happy to sell arms to their worst enemy. Kruschevs comment about how if he wanted to hang America, an American businessman would sell him the rope is actually far more pertinent to Europe.
