Do you consider Pakistan and Saudi Arabia as "reliable" regimes?

lol, cause I've never heard of the Americans giving guns and money to a bunch of people who turned out to be their enemies later on, so sir.

What's your point? We sold them Tomcats prior to the revolution, they were out allies then.

One of my main criticisms of US military foreign policy is that we really do not employ much foresight into what our "allies" will be doing five years from now. Trust me, I have no zeal for training Iraqis who I will have to fight in a few years, if not weeks, after training them.

I would also say that Europe generally has a much more favorable position with terror sponsoring states such as Libya than the US. Europe is generally hostile towards Israel, which has some appeal to the other 99% of the Middle East that tacitly agrees with the Iranian approach of destroying Israel.

That a European country wants to ally itself materially with Libya really doesn't shock me quite frankly.

I certainly hope that business as usual for Europe doesn't surprise you. Then again, I don't think they're allying themselves with anyone. The French are whores, they'll sell weapons to anyone, just like the Russians.

Bah - please don't confuse "Europe" and "France" - We can't stand the bastards!
They're amoralism doesn't reflect our continent, and indeed the US shouldn't get on the high horse over it either, lots of skeletons in BOTH your closets.

Do you want to exclude the UK also from Europe? Last I heard they had a huge arms deal with the KSA.

Sorry but US and British arms deals and assistance with Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan, Oman, the Mujahedeen and even post-'79 Iran - Iran-Contra Affair, anyone? - and such dodgy countries means that the France-bashing falls to double standards for most people.
