On the point of H winning his VC during the Flaklands war, some say he was actually shot by his own troops, who must have thought that by his actions he was going to get them all killed,
General Peter de Billiere who served as commander of the British forces in the 1st Gulf war, was a former SAS CO, however a story about him being junior officer in the Regt, in a book by a former soldier reveals that he was so unpopular that on more than one occasion he was almost shot by his own troops, one being the Uncle of friend of mine who won the MM in Dhofar
