I wouldn't wear one of those if my life depended on it...
There are however wonderful tests with so called "anti recoil heavy weapon platforms" for heavy mgs and automatik nade throwers... they seem to work pretty well so far. Imagine having supporting fire from a bloke whos carrying two heavy weapons and firing them in full stride... I kinda like the idea... as long as I'm no where near him

ive been meaning to read the book, but the movie was a little to hollywood for me. i was baffled the whole length of the film, its like their armed forces forgot about air and artillery support. and honestly, if you got in a war where you could finally use the nukes that have been sitting in the wharehouse for 200 years, you think you would. what were they worried about, collateral damage?

For those that love "Starship Troopers", try Joe Haldeman's "The Forever War". I've given it to some sod on loan, otherwise I'd give you nore details. There must be loads of imprints anyway.

The only practical application for this exoskeleton is for the fire department as I think it was originally designed for. If the scientists wildest dreams come true, soon there will be soldiers carrying 20mm autocannons with 300 spare rounds and running 20mph 200 pounds equipment in their back

If I remember the biggest argumant by a lot of soldier against armor is that it is hot and heavy and tires you out. a Suit of full plate armor wieghed about 80 to 100 pounds and requires a little effort to move around in
The wieght of modern kevlar ceramic armor offers a lot more protection than a sheet of 12-18 guage mild steel but it still wieghs a ton, if the arms and legs were fitted with power assist and a suitable frame work is used a lot of armor could be worn by a soldier and still leave room for weapons and armor.

With more powerfull servoes and a suitable powersupply larger systems could be a reality.

The russians have actually come up with a contraption that allows the wearer to travel upto 60 or so km an hour. I am not sure of the exact speed but it looks flimsey as ****, they';ve had a few broken legs and **** so my guess is it will probably have to be worked on.

I have always wondered how would the human body react to " mech. body Armor" i mean sure the navy has some thing like it now with Hard-suit 2000 but this Blix thing could a solder use it at full power with out the machine ripping him apart like your pouch does your favorite pair of shoes?

Jamie,

Has anyone ever called you a phat phuck?

No I mean as you were huffing and puffing
on the stairmaster with a cigarette dangling out
of your mouth and I mean besides your self?

I'll join you, for the time being... It still needs a lot of work, personally the TEKMAN is a far better option "a bit cumbersome no doubt".

Dude, would you mind taking your vitriol and venom and going elsewhere?
Preferably anywhere but World Affairs Board perhaps?
