Sorry dude,

I couldn't care less about Israel getting UNSC seat or not, it's their business.
As a matter of fact, I'm one of many Pakistani's abroad who are supportive of any future political engagement between Pakistan and Israel.

I don't know what you mean by being jealous

You're the first person I've ever heard say that. The commonly excepted reason that Bush 41 lost is two fold. First, poor economic performance, and second, the presence of a Reform Party candidate that won 20% of the vote. Many of those people would have voted for Bush.

Although the US was the first country to recognize Israel, the US and Israel were not allies until after the Six Day War, and were not STRONG allies until after the Yom Kippur War. There were strategic motivations behind this. Until the Six Day War it was not at all clear that Israel was going to survive, and at any rate, the Arabs seemed much stronger. In addition to this, the Arabs were not yet firmly in the Soviet camp. The US hoped to win the Arabs over by opposing Britain, France, and Israel in the Suez Crisis. It did not work, the Arabs joined the Soviets. Right after the Six Day War, the US started selling Phantom's to Israel and during the YKW the US delivered a massive airlift to Israel. In the UN the US has often supported Israel, but not always, after all, there would be no UNSC resolutions against Israel if the US vetoed them all. The "Jewish Lobby" does have some influence but it is not all powerful, AIPAC is like any other lobby group. Hell, the NRA is bigger. It is hard to pin US support for Israel on AIPAC although obviously AIPAC is not complaining.
