People from other forums will recognize me for following the following rule:
"Whatever land which is conquered through military means belong to the victors" .... therefore respectfully I do not need a lecture about conventions of war, as from my point of view spoils of war belongs to the victors .... however unbiased person that I am I hold the same exact view should Iraqi occupies and annex part of Kuwait, or should US occupies and annex part of Canada or should somewho Syria overruns Israel. Do you agree?

my point was only directed to the poster who try to make it look like they (Israel) were going to fully withdraw from west bank. and that was incorrect ... not only that it will never happen ...

1. You misinterpreted gunnut's statement and set up a strawman to beat up. I was merely pointing that out.

2. You are also misrepresenting my statement by lumping it in with gunnut's. I do believe in something similar to gunnut's statement that the spoils belong to the victor, but that is irrelevant since I'm not even invoking such reasoning here.

So, I am not disputing that Israel is not going to hand over all of the West Bank, just merely pointing out that they are not obliged since it is currently their land as ensconced in internationally recognized treaty law.

If Iraq could hold on to Kuwait, sure, by all means, it's theirs. But they couldn't. We kicked them out. Then we turned the land over to the Kuwaitis. We could just hold on to it. If we could hold it, it's ours. But we gave it back because we're so nice.

Syria can try to overrun Israel. They tried before. If they can actually overrun Israel and hold on to it, it's theirs, until someone else kicks them out. Such is the nature of war.
