The SLA collapse was predictable. while it was started as a Maronite army the demographics were not in their favour and soon there were a lot of shi'ias in it. And guess what religion Hezbollah, their opponent was? Shi'ia. SLA was so penetrated by Hezbollah that Israel refused to share info with them because they knew that it will get to Hezbollah soon.

As for Israel's darkest hour, what about first 48 hours of Yom Kippur war? When Syrians were on verge of breaking through on Golan and Egyptians crossed Suez canal and defeated several counterattacks?
