See, I think it's quite wrong to just assume that one group of people are bad or evil per se. There are reasons that people are driven to be certain way. If a normal person gets abused all of his/her lives, he/she will turn bad. People who grow up in poor neighbourhoods tend to commit more crimes than people growing up in rich neighbourhoods. Are they bad people? Not necessarily. So, what do you do to these people. Do you try to just punish them or fix them?

Palestinians are at a stage where they've been brainwashed for years by their governments, they got a scapegoat for their problems. They are dirt poor, angry about life, blah, blah, blah, we know about the condition in these places.

Hey, WAIT a second...THAT never happened.
that's uncalled for, you know as well as I do why those countries are capable of electing radical government and why US is not.
1. Germany pretty much had strong polar parties and its central parties were weak. You can say the same about Palestine
2. both Germany in 1930s and Palestine right now are in infancy of their democracy.

Same with the people from West Virginia, who have continued to vote Robert Byrd into office since 1953.

Or the people of South Carolina that sent Strom Thurmond back to Washington from the early 50s until he died?

That would be like condemning the people of the US because of the acts of idiots that, Drag people behind their truck because of their skin color, tie people to a fence and beat them to death because of their sex preference, Shoot a kid because hes in the "Wrong Hood" or wearing the wrong color sneakers or hat, spike trees so that loggers will get injured or killed and quit logging in the area, kill doctors because they perform abortions. And the list goes on.

All the above doesnt make us an immoral country or immoral people. Neither does the acts of a minority in Palestine make the whole group immoral.

And we didn't help in the matter. We told the Palestineans that if they would have elections they would be treated like a legit government. But when the people that we didn't like won, we reniged. What a great way for Hamas to say "See they really don't mean what they say. Can't trust the US."
We're going in circles here, because YES, I hold the majority responsible for what the majority supports. HAMAS, for instance; you'll notice they WON, and quite handily, too. Oh, and suicide/race-based murder for another great example. Are you aware that they make posters for the little monsters that carry out these senseless acts of mayhem, and they are hung up like sports stars in Pallie shops? They DO support what is done in their name, and if you doubt that, I invite you to Google-Image 'Palestinian reaction to 9/11'.

The fact is (and this is FACT, chief, so I don't want any 'you're entitled to your own opinion' passive/agressive bullsh1t) the majority of Palestinians DO support the terrorists, racism, genocide, subjugation of women, and a hundred other sicknesses glorified in their benighted religious beliefs and political principles. They are not ready for prime-time, not so long as they cling to the mentality of hatred.

As for the election, well, I'm glad they had one, but note this well: the party that won does NOT believe in free and fair democratic elections. They are no more democrats at heart than any other fascist oppressor, but they will gladly use any means to attain power they can, and this is merely a new version of 'One man, One vote, One time.' THE FIRST SECOND it becomes apparent they will be turned out of power...elections cancelled, Black Turban Guy won again. Big surprise. If anybody wants to see the re-count, no problem; you can go over the figures in the prison basement for the next twenty years, habibi.

We send our body-draggers, fence-tiers, kid-shooters, tree-spikers, and abortion doctor-killers to prison; THEY make their bigots into celebreties and heroes, and sometimes elect them to high office. HUGE difference.

ALL? No, but the majority are responsible, absolutely. There is something WRONG with that municipality, and I'd be amused to hear you deny it.

Nope; Byrd repudiated the KKK.

If you knowingly vote for someone that stands for "whatever", doesn't that "whatever" reflect on you? If you were to vote for a party of terrorists, like Hamas who make their intentions quite clear, would that not make you a supporter of terrorism?

The only thing I can say for the people of La. He only served 1 term and it was more of a "Kick the incumbant out" than a majority backing of his ideas.
Notice they havn't elected his to any position since.

While I'll agree with you on Thurmond but only for his actions from the 1970s and on I cannot believe you give Byrd a pass. It just doesn't fit in with your All Palis are evil if you have to diss the West Virginians.

[quote] Byrd KKK member and recruiter until he left them in 1943. So now he’s a stand up guy and those folks in W Va can sleep well that they aren’t backing a racist POS.

3 years after quitting the Klan he wrote "I am a former kleagle of the Ku Klux Klan in Raleigh County and the adjoining counties of the state .... The Klan is needed today as never before and I am anxious to see its rebirth here in West Virginia .... It is necessary that the order be promoted immediately and in every state of the Union. Will you please inform me as to the possibilities of rebuilding the Klan in the Realm of W. Va .... I hope that you will find it convenient to answer my letter in regards to future possibilities."

When integration of the Armed Forces was being proposed :

Byrd said he would” Never fight with a Negro by my side. Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds."

Or the 14+ hour filibuster speech he gave trying to keep the Civil rights act from passing.

all the way to 2001 when he said on Fox News” "There are white ni***rs. I've seen a lot of white ni***rs in my time; I'm going to use that word."

I’m sure if you google you can find a lot more remarks from hit that span the 70s – 90s. yet he keeps getting elected.

I vote for Republicans that are anti abortion yet that doesn't mean that I'm anti abortion. I also voted for Bush but am against the GWOT. Its a series of compromises. Sometimes you pick the lesser of the evils.

I've been to Israel and the Gaza strip. I know how those people live. If you have a group (Hamas) that can keep the power on and control the gangs and provide a little order, so that my house doesn't get broken into and my family doesn't get robbed, than yes thats who you vote for.

Are the people of W VA a bunch of closet KKKers? No Sen Byrd wins reelection because he knows how to bring in the money, which equal jobs.

Do you agree with EVERYTHING the candidate stands for when you vote?
