Israel and Iran crisis?

Say the air strikes fail and Israel does not want to use nukes:

Could Israel successfully occupy Iran?

Is Israel stronger than Iran?

How? They have no land border, and even if they did they would be trying to occupy a country of 66 million when they only have 5 million. Simply not realistic.

In the type of contest we could expect (exchanging air strikes), Israel does have a substantial edge. That being said, without nukes neither side really has the capability to do much damage to the other. The distance seperating them is simply too great.

Through a full scale transportation of its troops through carriers or maybe they would be allowed by the USA to meet on the Iran border through Iraq. Say they amassed 150 000 troops could they hold Iran. I have heard several suggestions that the Israeli soldiers are much better trained and equipped than Iran's. In this event could they occupy Iran?

Uh...no. The IDF has about 180,000 soldiers, and about 400,000 reserves. Even if that were enough, there would be no soldiers left to protect Israel, and the Israeli economy would be totally ruined because so much of its labour force would be doing reserve duty. The IDF is better trained and equipped, but it is still completely ridiculous to suggest they could occupy Iran. If there was something less realistic than a pipe dream, this is it.

This crisis will not be solved diplomatically because of the mullahs and too many hardliners in power. Hence if the Israeli air strikes fail which has a high probability and then Iran attacks Israel. Will Israel use nukes i need some suggestions here. Also would the Iranian retaliation attack be powerful enough to force Israel to use nukes?

will Iran definetely retailliate?

Why don't you join the IDF for this war. You seem to be itching for a war, I am sure you will make a valuable addition.

No monk if you had half a brain you would realise after Irans hardliners comments to Israel that this will not be resolved diplomatically. If you had any understanding you would realise it is an Islamic nation developing nukes to wipe out the Jews which has been their goal since the revolution. We have had 3 years of diplomacy now. Its not working!!!!!

Wouldn't count on it. You'd think American's would get an unwelcome reception by even being in Iraq...

Some of these to realise the severity of the crisis:

Okay monk even though Iran's hardline president has called for Israel to be wiped off the map and for the USA to burn with them what is Iran refusing to give up its nuclear work for?

To show a message that the powers can not be bullys. No you idiot they need nukes for the destruction of Israel.

You think it will get solved diplomatically. I predict an un successful pre emptive strike withing a month and will most likely lead to Israel exchanging nuclear weapons.

The problem is that Iran really lacks the ability to attack Israel directly. They can launch some missiles, but only over US held Iraq (which would result in a US retaliation that they couldn't possibly defeat), and even then they wouldn't do a great deal of damage. The worst that Iran could really do to Israel is somehow incite Hezbollah to launch a full scale offensive against Israel, which would then prompt Israel into some kind of retaliation against Hezbollah's base areas. A full fledged conflict between Israel and Iran at this point in time simply isn't realistic, because they are too far away from one another.

Im sick of these dumbshit Iranians threatening Israel. Surely we saw the same scenes when Saddam defied the USA was stronger than Iraq and that was proven wrong in a month. I think it may be part of the Islamic ego in that you are stronger than you realy are e.g Iran, Syria, Pakistan..

I dunno how Iran is gonna wipe a country off the map that has 300 nuclear weapons when they at present don't have any themselves. Also just been reciting their air force, its terrible, i don't even think they will take to the skies in the case of war. With an outdated airforce and a small outdated navy this country is bordering on the brink of insanity.
