No Sir, I'm born into a mohajir familiy in Karachi.
Both my parents were born in India as children from mix marriages; my father's family migrated from Samarqand, Uzbekistan to Allahabad where my grandfather was born and mother's family is from Isfahan, Iran but they've been in India for centuries. She was born in Delhi into a family of traditional goldsmiths.

We already had family in Punjab befor the partition and my grandparents stayed with them in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan and Bahawalpur befor settling in Karachi.

My father fled to Khulna, East Pakistan after their house was burnt in Calcutta and settled in Dhaka and later Cox's Bazar.
He came to Karachi in 1954, married my mother in 1962 and left for Europe in 1972, weeks after the civil war.
Rest of the family followed him in 1979.

My family has married pujnabis, balochis, sindhis, kashmiris, bangalis and there are even some indians in the family.
So, in every sense of word, we are true Pakistanis

If your mother is from Isfahan, then would I be correct in surmising that you are a Shia?

Sorry for asking a personal question.

    You need not answer.

No Sir, no problem at all!
We are sunni's, well the majority in the familiy is. Some are married into shiah family.
Many sunnis migrated from Persia like my grandparents.

Any multi-religious,multi-ethnic,multi-lingual,multi-anything country will have problems.
Its utopian and foolish to think that all humans with so many many differences can live in perfect harmony.

What matters is the how the State handles the issues and the laws it applies.

Illiteracy, poverty and unemployment are but triggers(or catalysts).

    Neo,

My government also makes many wonderful policy statements.

    However, the reality is different.

I do hope that the Pakistani govt does what it is stating it shall do.
