As an European i think the integration into EU is moving a little to fast for people to feel comfortable. Europeans need time to embrace new ideas and Brussels is not doing good-enough job in giving the impression of listening to the people. Many have negative feelings because they feel alienated from decision-making proces. You must give Europe time to adjust.
On the other side almost all nations will first be British, French, Polish... and then European. My loyalty first goes to my country and then to EU and i think many Europeans think the same. United States of Europe is a concept that is not suitable for Europe, like in the US where you are first an American.
As Europeans we share common values so we can be integrated into one
multinational state, but to form this values it takes time. To better protect our interests in the world we are far better of as Europeans than let's say Dutch.![]()
