Whose interest will this "one world government" work for?
" The United Nations (UN) is an international organization whose stated aims are facilitating cooperation in international law, international security, economic development, social progress, human rights, and achievement of world peace. The UN was founded in 1945 after World War II to replace the League of Nations, to stop wars between countries, and to provide a platform for dialogue. It contains multiple subsidiary organizations to carry out its missions." Although the goal of the UN seems clear, it seems that many of it powers have been weakened and cause the UN to become successful in its goal of world peace.
What is your opinion on the UN and do you think it has the potential to become the leader of a NWO or at least provide the basis for one?

Kind of like the United Federation of Planets? Lol.
Presumably the poor states would be made equal by taxing the rich ones?
"We will go through our federal budget – page by page, line by line – eliminating those programs we don’t need, and insisting that those we do operate in a sensible cost-effective way." -President Barack Obama 11/25/2008
i feel that the world is not yet ready for such a form of government, there is to much hostility against the world powers such as the united states and it and its allies. possibly once the united states gives up its obsessive need to police the world and mends its hostilities with countries such as north Korea, then a nwo can start to emerge. even if only 1/2 of the world joins this nwo, it would be many of the super powers which would domino into the entire world joining at some point. although care would have to be taken to prevent the nwo from turning into just another UN.

It sounds AWESOME marx!
Can I live anywhere I want? I kind of like the tropics, and I want to be able to fish so I will need a boat.
You know, I don't really like working. The government will take care of me right? I don't eat that much, and I plan to catch a lot of fish, but I will need some gas for the boat.
I should mention that I worship the multi-tentacled God. I don't want my children raised in the same creche as the ones who worship the single-tentacled God. We will have creches for everyone, right?
I have SO MANY questions, but if you will answer these first we're on our way.

Reserving the right to Troung things up after highsea...
To sit down with these men and deal with them as the representatives of an enlightened and civilized people is to deride ones own dignity and to invite the disaster of their treachery - General Matthew Ridgway
well highsea, technically you will b able to live anywhere you want to live yes. however like i said, the world is not yet ready for this type of government, due to most of the topics you brought to question. for example what type of currency would be used? how would everyone receive the currency, and would the rich continue to be rich and the poor continue to be poor? what would happen with heath care and government financial support. what would happen with trading and competition between companies? the questions are endless and currently, i am sad to say, there is no solution yet. if you have ever read any of orson scott cards books like shadow of the hegemon, you will witness a world inwhich a moderate form of world government controls most of the world, although this is a fantasy novel it provides a vision in ones mind where the world is united(ignore the large wars that break out in the book)

^^^ You do realize that the large wars are the point of the story, right?
Orson Scott Card is one of my favorite authors. The story you refer to is a critique of your utopia.
Anyway, back to our utopia- since you have identified some of the problems associated with money, wealth, etc. I suggest we just enslave the other half of the world that doesn't want to join us. They can build my boat, extract the oil and refine it into gasoline for me, build and run the creches, and so on.

yes i do understand that was the main part of the story, but its that basis of the form of government even in enders game and enders shadow.
and yes back to the utopia. the oil rich areas of the world will still continue with extracting oil and people will keep their jobs and they can build your boat, assuming you can afford it using the nwo currency. You seem to be under the impression that people will be able to just sit back and relax with out doing much of anything and have things just fall into their laps. the world will not change much except for the poverty levels going down because of a stable government and the world hunger rate will also decrease. with your religion you will have to find a place for your self to live, the amount of freedom presented to you will be much like the freedom intended towards the people of the united states, you are free, but your freedoms are also regulated. (is hard to find resolutions for all of these problems by my self, one of the large reasons why i posted this topic on here in the first place...even though i feel we have strayed from the origional topic which was about the UN being a good base for the nwo or just a waste of time and money(i like the utopia discussion more though))

It's a commentary on the human condition. Once the outside enemy was defeated, the world plunged back into war.
Well gee, you are making the US sound pretty good. We have a stable form of government, the population isn't starving, we have freedom of religion, I have a place to live, I am relatively free so long as I don't infringe on the freedoms of someone else.
So what's the point again? Stop the US acting as the world's police? I guess that's fine, a little genocide now and then isn't that big a deal.

im just saying that the only way to keep the world happy is for the united states to stay out of other countries affairs. i agree that with out u.s. involvement then genocide would surly happen more often and the united states would still get blamed. the u.s. interferes and we get blamed, we dont interfere and we still get blamed. and ONCE again, like i said, the dream of a nwo is almost impossible to attempt with the worlds current condition. AGAIN, why i am posting on here is to gather advise and knowledge from others to attempt to come up with a solution/ solutions.

I think the threat of terrorism is a unifying factor, perhaps the world could unite against that, see how that cooperation goes, and if it goes well try expanding the effort to eliminating hunger. But I am concerned that the first effort would breakdown before we could move on. I'm not sure the UN is a viable answer to the guiding force in this effort.
