You don't seem to understand that some people would rather rule his own little plot of land than to live under someone else's rules. He would die fighting to be his own king. You may think that's illogical, but it is logical to the extreme. There's wealth, power, and self-determination. He gets to make his own rules. He can party as much as he wants, mine whatever mineral he has within his borders, and boss his own people around. Tell me, why would he submit to a global authority?

Thanks for sharing that Col. Some folks will never get it. My epiphany was seeing a 13 yr old boy gunned down in the street for stealing a watch, by police, while I could do nothing that wouldn't start an int'l incident. After that....I never heard another good "plan" and questioned my own purpose in life.

My apologies if I gave this impression. I never saw these events in Rwanda. I was in Rwanda after the fact but this was the scenario presented to Peacekeeping leaders, ie the Sgts and above, as well as Captains and above.

This was the Romeo Dallaire scenario. How do we deal with this scenario.

It was decided. Shoot the biggest bastard with an AK47. If that didn't work, shoot the next biggest bastard with an AK47. After you get through the men, shoot that machete welding pregnant mother with a baby on her back. And if this didn't work, put a bullet into everyone who is holding a weapon. If this means putting a bullet into a 12 year old kid holding a machete, it means putting a bullet into a scared to death, sh!tting out of his pants but holding a machete 12 year old kid.

This was all theoretical.
