    Nick,

Stay safe. My thoughts and prayers to all affected by this calamity. All that drought and then the heavens spill their guts. It hardly makes sense. First Pakistan and now this. In a world so needing fresh water you'd only hope the Lord might spread his bounty a tad more widely.

    Steve,
Thanks but I am safe in my dust bowl.

I have lots of sympathy and consideration to those in Queensland especially the ones caught by that flash flood in Toowoomba.
I lived in eth easer states at one time. Had my place flooded and it was a huge nightmare, especially the clean up afterwards. Moved interstate, only to get flooded again; though not as bad.
I just hope and pray that the insurance companies don’t play funnies with people making claims.

As for my little place there is a large monsoonal front running from Darwin in the north through to Adelaide in the south and the projection is this will bring buckets of rain to the centre, east SA, western NSW and Vic.
The good Met boys 2 days ago said where I am we would be looking at 40mm rain for today. Great fill up the tanks. This has all been down graded to 1-5 mm. Bummer!

Yes Australia is the big land of weird extremes.

I'd rather have the sharks that the scum that feed on the misery of their fellow human beings. If caught they should get 10 years hard labour, no parole

I was awed to learn the affected area is larger than the state of Texas, which is something we in the states can relate to. Just incredible what folks there are going through and with such resiliency. Quite a people.
