Nothing like trying to justify the constant playing of that victim-card.![]()
This is an attempt to address ".. the root cause for the loss of trust and confidence between the Muslim world on one side and the Judeo-Christian civilization on the other side.” It is also the root cause for the anger, hatred, and in extreme case vengence.
Call For Understanding Of Muslim Humiliation
Sept 2006 [UN PressRelease] The divide between the Muslim and Judeo-Christian worlds will widen until the international community appreciates the sense of humiliation Muslims feel at many actions around the world, especially in the Middle East, Malaysia’s Prime Minister told the United Nations today.
Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, addressing the second day of the General Assembly’s annual debate, said this humiliation “is the root cause for the loss of trust and confidence between the Muslim world on one side and the Judeo-Christian civilization on the other side.”
He said it was particularly dispiriting that the greatest discord in the world exists between the followers of Judaism, Christianity and Islam, “who had in fact shared a common beginning, which was the religion of Abraham.”
Mr. Badawi called on all sides to strive harder to take part in sincere dialogue, instead of pre-judging the position of certain countries as “evil” or engaging in name-calling.
He then focused on the Middle East, where he said recent events across the region – from Palestine and Lebanon to Iraq and Afghanistan – have “helped make what may once have been extremist opinions part of the Muslim mainstream. The Muslim world certainly sees all these as a complicity to humiliate Muslim countries and Muslim societies.
Citing the ongoing occupation of the Palestinian territories and the armed conflict with Hizbollah in Iran, he said “the actions of Israel in the Middle East are being supported, either openly or tacitly, supposedly in defence of the Judeo-Christian tradition against the spread of radical militant Islam, thus legitimizing all of its actions, no matter how brutal. ...

Stop playing Islamic Rage Boy and I might change my attitude.
To understand this root cause, here is another commentry by Thomas Friedman of the NY Times.
The Humiliation Factor
Nov 2003 ...the speech made Oct. 16 by Malaysia's departing prime minister, Mahathir Mohamad, to a conclave of Muslim leaders. ... Five times he referred to Muslims as humiliated. If I've learned one thing covering world affairs, it's this: The single most underappreciated force in international relations is humiliation.
''I will not enumerate the instances of our humiliation,'' Mr. Mahathir said. ''We are all Muslims. We are all oppressed. We are all being humiliated. . . . Today we, the whole Muslim [community], are treated with contempt and dishonor. . . . There is a feeling of hopelessness among the Muslim countries and their people. ... He added: ''Our only reaction is to become more and more angry. ... .''
Always remember, the Arab-Israeli conflict is about both borders and Nobel Prizes. It's about where the dividing line should be and it's about the humiliation that comes from one side succeeding at modernity and the other not. As Mr. Mahathir says in his speech, ''We sacrifice lives unnecessarily, achieving nothing other than to attract more massive retaliation and humiliation .....
''Iraq is full of angry men,'' Mustafa Alrawi, managing editor of Iraq Today, wrote in Beirut's Daily Star. ''For example, in the area unfairly labeled as the 'Sunni triangle,' the population was badly hurt by the decision to disband the army and the policy of de-Baathification. . . . Thousands of men, many of whom took pride in their rank and status, were left bewildered and confused. It must be remembered that the army . . . did not fight the U.S. invasion, effectively giving their stamp of approval to the plan to topple Saddam Hussein. They have wounded pride to restore. Entire tribes feel embarrassed that they supported the invasion, only to be left out in the cold by the coalition's myopic vision of how Iraq should be run.''
Never, ever underestimate a people's pride, no matter how broken they might be. It is very easy for Iraqis to hate Saddam and resent America for overstaying. Tap into people's dignity and they will do anything for you. Ignore it, and they won't lift a finger. Which is why a Pakistani friend tells me that what the U.S. needs most in Iraq is a strategy of ''dehumiliation and re-dignification.'' ...
Oh gee the poor widdle jehadis dont like people's attitudes... after all its just a few bombs here and there.
For Gallifrey! For Victory! For the end of time itself!!
Nazi rhetoric in a different package.
As long as the State of Israel exists, the Arab and Muslim world will continue to hate the West.
End of Story.
Stop killing inoocent non-combatants/civilians for jihad(9/11, Bali bombing, Mumbai attack) and Accept the state of Israel, and the whole world can live in peace.
Everyone has opinions, only some count.
Exactly. As long as those countries remain mired in the 8th Century and continue to sentence 75-year old widowed women to dozens of lashes for "mingling with males that were not close relatives, there will be a hatred and a victim mentality.
How can your country, your culture and your religion provide hope and opportunity for improving yourself when all 3 are busy beating old women like animals?![]()
Now this is what I call a Leader of a Country.
the views of Patriotic Australian Prime Minister
The whole world needs a leader like this!
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd - Australia
Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks..
Separately, Kevin angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote: 'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians. '
'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom'
'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!'
'Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'
'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.'
'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.'
'If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'
Maybe if we circulate this amongst ourselves, WE will find the courage to start speaking and voicing the same truths.
If you agree please SEND THIS ON and ON to as many people as you know.
CA,
Do you have a citation for this? I am curious because it not only sounds way more inflammatory than Rudd would engage in, it even sounds a bit extreme for his predecessor.
Looking at it carefully, it looks VERY suspicious. I am not even sure it was originally about Australia. I'm don't think we even have a pledge. Virtually no one here speaks Spanish, Arabic, Russian or Japanese. In fact, this sounds much more like the sort of thing that a far right wing group might produce - and perhaps not even an Australian one (I am not & have never been a Christian & anyone who wants to declare my nation 'Christian' can get f**ked).
I would be very curious to find out when he said it & to whom. Until then I strongly suspect it is a hoax.
