"I'm increasingly concerned about the current climate of challenge to judicial independence..."
So independent they have begun sighting other country's laws in their briefs. So independent their political affiliations shine right through in their briefs.
“O'Connor told a gathering of state judges from around the country Friday. "Unhappiness with judges today is at a very intense level." “
Damn right it is.
“The judiciary is the weakest of the three branches of government, she said, and therefore the one with "the greatest need to be defended."
Weakest? They have the power to over turn any law the legislator passes. The courts have taken it upon themselves to make law rather then interpret law. Term limits is the closest thing to some semblance of accountability we can hope for. Defend them?
