Yes, the unifying force of Islam is currently clearly on display for the world to see in Iraq where Sunni kills Shia and Shia kills Sunni on a daily basis.

Women and children and all...

no PLAT, here is the thing WE DO NOT WANT TO LEARN ABOUT ISLAM!!! I'm a Sikh, and i'm not gonna keep telling you oh how awesome my religion is and how great it is... and how you don't understand it and how you should learn it!!! everybody has their own religion to follow... but the thing with Islam is that it enforces (when I say "it" i don't mean the religion but the religious extremists like you). I mean, I don't know about others on this board, but I am in no way in discrimination against Islam... I'm not saying Islam is bad... but what i believe is that Islam has been misinterpretated not only by non-muslims but Muslims themselves!!! If you claim that Islam does not teach you violence then your misinterpretation of Islam does... and the worst thing is that majority of the muslim people are actually selling this misinterpretation to the rest of the world... In India, a bunch of pothead terrorists tried to brainwash Sikhs in 80's and now as the population of Punjab steps out of the rural areas and more and more people are getting access to good education; this is resulting in Sikhs themselves distinguishing whats right and whats wrong rather than having a Sant tell you whats right and wrong... and that is probably why you won't see a trace of Khalistani terrorism in Punjab...

"No force has been able to make men give the ultimate sacrifice, even for an evil cause, the hijackers of 911 knew what they where doing was pure evil, yet their faith allowed them to suppress the fear and they killed thousands whilst committing suicide, your afraid of that power, because all you see is this day and night."

Be careful you don't "scare us" right into the "muslim haters" hands...get us "scared" enough, and we might just do something really irrational: like nuking Islam from existence...

and so was Christianity... Christians practically wiped out entire Mayan, Inca and other South American civilizations... Missionaries burnt down ancient Mayan and Incan texts in order to get these civilizations to pick up on the bible..

You may note that i've stated that Religion itself is the greatest of all man-made evils.

Xtians in their early days were little(if at all) better than Islamists, but Islam DID strike the first blow vs Xtianity. And regardless of either religion's behavior in bygone centuries, Xtianity has largely cleaned it's act up on a global scale, whereas 100s of gallons of blood are spilled EVERY DAY in the name of Islam.

Demz the facts young fella.

although i still don't agree, that Islam drew first blood, not saying that Christians drew first blood either... this thing can be argued about, post after post... so lez just leave it...

but i do agree that christianity has cleaned up it's act... although it's still pretty active around the world (missionaries and all), it has pretty much dropped the violent ways unlike Islam...

Christianity began as a real religion of peace, became gradually corrupted by the absolute power of its leaders (after Justinian). And really took on a militant bent when 'christian' nations crusaded against a rising Islam. There's a lot more, of course, the explotation of the new world, the reformation and all that. Islam, however, began with conquests as soon as the Prophet had the military muscle to do so.

It divides just as much. The Hazaras and the Taliban is a "great" example. And only a small fringe would feel compelled to go to say Iraq and Afghanistan to fight the USA...
