"It is a good system as it solves the problem of dealing with animal waste and it provides heat," said Mr Virta.

How disgusting....industrialism in such an inhumane form. How gross.

I dunno about perfect, but they're very wealthy, healthy and well educated. They constantly top surveys of 'best places to live' - Everybody loves them and the guys are hot!

They are the poster child for how socialism can work (so long as your not a bunnie).

Flesh is not naturaly combustable and certainly not rabbits!

Heat is just a by-product of what would be a very expensive exercise.

It would be a hell of a lot smarter to use the meat for food that has money value and their rabbit plauge would soon be over.

    Cheers.
Wouldn't it take as much energy to burn a frozen bunny as it produces? They aren't exactly wood or coal.

I think you are probably right. Even unfrozen and ground, they need a high existing temp to combust. Plus there is the energy used in freezing them and then grinding them up. Would make more sense to grind them up and make dog food out of them.

But as Zara said, they are socialists so how smart can they be?

They're all rich, happy and healthy - so why would they want to change their system?

    Vastly more I would say.

Even a gas fired boiler is not all that efficient but to add a non fuel item to the proccess and consume even more energy to convert the carcass to ash is throwing money away.

Assuming the flesh is not fit for consumtion then turning it into fertilizer as abattoirs do with offal is a better use or, simply burying the carcasses in slit trenches in a forestry reserve would be the cheapest way to go and also provide nutrient.

It is a wonder the Greenies are not jumping up and down about the waste of fuel and green house gasses produced to burn the carcasses and other refuse.

Perhaps the Swedes have some sort of objection to burying waste and then collecting the methane it inevitably produces.

I still think there is a lot of BS and spin about this story.

    Cheers.

Wow, she taught you English, that's pretty surprising. I thought for a long time Russian was the preferred foreign language.

Socialism creates depressive and apathetic society while free market capitalism creates frighten and desperate society.

I would rather live in a cardboard box that I own, earned and live free in than live in a castle that someone else had to work for me to live there.

Enjoying the fruits of your own labor and opportunity are precious. Besides, MY standard of living is great and I worked for every single thing I have. Don't like how you live in America? Get off your ass and do something about it! Least ways that's how it is so far.

"Those who support the culling of rabbits think it's good to use the bodies for a good cause," said Anna Johanneson of the Society for the Protection of Wild Rabbits.

"But it feels like the power company is trying to turn the animals into an industry rather than look at the main problem," Officials target the rabbits to stem the damage done from their feasting on the parks' plants.

Last year, 6,000 rabbits were killed, the paper reported.

Activists claim it's not only wild rabbits being harvested, but also unwanted pets turned loose in Stockholm's parks.

Johannesson told a local newspaper it's time Swedish parks authorities started thinking outside the hutch for ways to co-exist with the bunnies.

"Helsinki in Finland sprays the plants to make them unappetizing and they have also set up a system of shelters for animals to be donated to," she said.

"They have come much further along than us."

I am for capitalism but I am against communism, socialism and liberal capitalism.
Only capitalism can deliver true value and true progress while liberal capitalism is 100% destructive as well as communism and socialism.
